Southwest Guilford Cowboys (High Point, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Oak Grove Grizzlies (Winston-Salem, NC), 78-75 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Southwest Guilford upgrades its record to 9-2 on the campaign. The Cowboys host Southeast Guilford (Greensboro, NC) to play the Falcons in a 4A Metro bout on Friday, January 5. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 2-8. Southeast Guilford won 65-51 in their recent non-league bout against Ragsdale (Jamestown, NC)

Next up, the Grizzlies play the Randleman Tigers (Randleman, NC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Oak Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 8-4 record after their 63-41 non-league loss to Asheboro (Asheboro, NC).
