Providence-St. Mel Knights (Chicago, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Olympia Spartans (Stanford, IL), 68-62 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Providence-St. Mel improves its record to 4-8 on the campaign. The Knights host Saint Ignatius College Prep (Chicago, IL) to confront the Wolfpack in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Wolfpack come into the challenge with a record of 8-8.

Next up, the Spartans confront the Tri-Valley Vikings (Downs, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 3. Olympia will attempt to improve on its 4-10 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 12-3 record after their 59-36 non-league loss to Normal University (Normal, IL).
