Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the St. Francis Indian Warriors (St. Francis, SD) and the visiting Wakpala Sioux (Wakpala, SD), saw St. Francis Indian's basketball squad hold off Wakpala by a tally of 46-42.
With the victory, St. Francis Indian improves its record to 3-2 on the campaign. The Warriors host Pine Ridge (Pine Ridge, SD) to play the Thorpes in a A Region 7 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Thorpes come into the challenge with a record of 5-0.
Next up, the Sioux play the Lemmon Cowboys (Lemmon, SD) in a B Region 8 challenge, on Tuesday, January 9. Wakpala will attempt to improve on its 4-3 season record.
