North Carolina High School Basketball - Mitchell crushes Andrews

Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Andrews Wildcats (Andrews, NC), 70-30 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Mitchell upgrades its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Mountaineers travel to Draughn (Valdese, NC) to play the Wildcats in a 1A/2A Western Highlands bout on Friday, January 5. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 4-8. Draughn lost 78-53 in their recent non-league bout against East Rutherford (Forest City, NC)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Franklin Panthers (Franklin, NC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Andrews will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 62-60 non-league loss to Hayesville (Hayesville, NC).
