Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host West Caldwell Warriors (Lenoir, NC), 61-19 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Ashe County upgrades its record to 6-5 on the season. The Huskies host Pine Lake Prep (Mooresville, NC) to play the Pride in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 30. The Pride go into the bout with a record of 4-4. Pine Lake Prep won 59-30 in their recent non-league bout against West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC)

Next up, the Warriors play the Bunker Hill Bears (Claremont, NC) in a 2A Catawba Valley bout, on Friday, January 5. West Caldwell will attempt to upgrade on its 0-9 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 3-8 record after their 52-39 non-league loss to Newton-Conover (Newton, NC).
