The Hyde Park Thunderbirds (Chicago, IL) basketball knocked off the host Bloomington Purple Raiders (Bloomington, IL), 58-46 in Friday's non-league test.
The Thunderbirds (12-5) will now prepare for their test against Simeon (Chicago, IL). The Wolverines go into the Chicago Public - Red South Central test with a 6-6 record. In their last game, Simeon knocked off Amundsen (Chicago, IL), 37-34, in a non-league game.
With the defeat, Bloomington moves to 6-11 on the year. The Purple raiders travel to Normal Community (Normal, IL) to face the Ironmen in a Big Twelve game on Thursday, January 4. The Ironmen enter the game with a record of 17-1. Normal Community won 51-46 in their recent non-league game against Morton (Morton, IL)
