In Friday's non-league outing, the De Leon Bearcats (De Leon, TX) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Valley Mills Eagles (Valley Mills, TX), by a margin of 61-23.

The Bearcats (5-8) will now prepare for their outing against Hico (Hico, TX). The Tigers go into the 2A Region II District 11 outing with a 2-17 record. In their last outing, Hico was trounced by Troy (Troy, TX), 36-21, in a non-league outing.

The Eagles now own a 10-9 record. They play next when they host Frost for a 2A Region II District 12 outing on Friday, January 5.
