The Eastland Cougars (Lanark, IL) basketball smashed the host Freeport Pretzels (Freeport, IL), 62-37 in Friday's non-league contest.

The Cougars now sport a 9-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Milledgeville for a Northwest Upstate Illini - South contest on Wednesday, January 3. Eastland will battle a Missiles team coming off a 38-30 non-league loss to Forreston (Forreston, IL). The Missiles record now stands at 1-11.

The Pretzels (5-7) will now prepare for their contest against Monroe (Monroe, WI). The Cheesemakers come into the non-league contest with a 1-9 record. In their last contest, Monroe was routed by Edgerton (Edgerton, WI), 84-14, in a non-league contest.
