In Friday's non-league outing, the Parklane Academy Pioneers (McComb, MS) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Hillcrest Christian Cougars (Jackson, MS), by a count of 60-13.

The Pioneers (8-5) will now prepare for their outing against St. Joseph Catholic (Madison, MS). The Bruins go into the non-league outing with a 5-5 record. In their last outing, St. Joseph Catholic was crushed by Leake Academy (Madden, MS), 67-44, in a non-league outing.

The Cougars now hold a 3-12 record. They play next when they host River Oaks for a MAIS 3A District 4 match on Tuesday, January 2. Hillcrest Christian will meet a Mustangs team coming off a 36-23 non-league win over Claiborne Academy (Haynesville, LA). The Mustangs record now stands at 2-1.
