Westbrook Wildcats (Westbrook, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Huckabay Indians (Stephenville, TX), 52-46 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Westbrook upgrades its record to 15-7 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Ira (Ira, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 1A Region II District 14 bout on Friday, January 5. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 6-10.

The Indians (17-7) will now prepare for their battle against Gorman (Gorman, TX). The Panthers come into the 1A Region III District 19 battle with a 20-3 record.
