Mississippi High School Basketball - Laurel crushes West Jones

December 29, 2023: Laurel, MS 39443

Laurel Golden Tornadoes (Laurel, MS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host West Jones Mustangs (Laurel, MS), 67-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Laurel upgrades its record to 11-3 on the season. The Golden Tornadoes host East Central (Moss Point, MS) to clash with the Hornets in a 5A Region 4 bout on Friday, January 5. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 2-12.

Next up, the Mustangs clash with the Petal Panthers (Petal, MS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 2. West Jones will attempt to upgrade on its 14-3 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 7-9 record after their 46-33 non-league loss to Bay (Bay St. Louis, MS).
