Illinois High School Basketball - Rock Island can't hold off Plainfield North

The Plainfield North Tigers basketball team scored 50 points and held the visiting Rock Island Rocks to 43 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Friday.

The Tigers now sport a 7-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Plainfield South for a SouthWest Prairie - East contest on Thursday, January 4. Plainfield North will battle a Cougars team coming off a 47-44 non-league loss to Peotone (Peotone, IL). The Cougars record now stands at 10-6.

The Rocks (6-11) will now prepare for their contest against Sterling (Sterling, IL). The Golden Warriors enter the Western Big 6 contest with a 6-9 record. In their last contest, Sterling nudged Jefferson (Rockford, IL), 54-38, in a non-league contest.
