West Valley Mustangs (Hemet, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles (Desert Hot Springs, CA), 49-30 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Valley upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Liberty (Winchester, CA) to play the Bison in a bout on Thursday, January 18. The Bison go into the bout with a record of 10-4.

Next up, the Golden Eagles play the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs (Thermal, CA) in a bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Desert Hot Springs will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record. The Mighty Arabs go into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 48-26 league loss to Twentynine Palms (Twentynine Palms, CA).
