Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the West Union Eagles (Myrtle, MS) and the host Pine Grove Panthers (Ripley, MS), saw West Union's basketball squad hold off Pine Grove by a tally of 48-45.

With the victory, West Union improves its record to 10-2 on the campaign. The Eagles host Tupelo Christian Prep (Belden, MS) to confront the Eagles in a 1A Region 2 challenge on Friday, December 10. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 1-4.

Next up, the Panthers confront the Tishomingo County Braves (Iuka, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 4. Pine Grove will attempt to improve on its 6-3 season record. The Braves come into the challenge with a 10-0 record after their 76-40 non-league win over Alcorn Central (Glen, MS).
