Melrose Buffaloes (Melrose, NM) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Clayton Yellowjackets (Clayton, NM), 57-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Melrose upgrades its record to 3-0 on the season. The Buffaloes host Estancia (Estancia, NM) to clash with the Bears in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 8. The Bears go into the bout with a record of 0-1.

Next up, the Yellowjackets clash with the Boise City Wildcats (Boise City, OK) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 6. Clayton will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record.
