Forreston Cardinals (Forreston, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Shullsburg Miners (Shullsburg, WI), 46-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Forreston upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Cardinals host Eastland (Lanark, IL) to play the Cougars in a Northwest Upstate Illini - South bout on Tuesday, December 6. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 2-1. Eastland lost 54-48 in their recent non-league bout against Warren (Warren, IL)

Next up, the Miners play the Benton Zephyrs (Benton, WI) in a Six Rivers - West bout, on Tuesday, December 6. Shullsburg will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Zephyrs go into the bout with a 2-0 record after their 51-41 non-league win over Warren (Warren, IL).
