Virginia High School Football - Essex drops to Riverheads

In Saturday's non-league game, the Riverheads Gladiators (Staunton, VA) football team knocked off the visiting Essex Trojans (Tappahannock, VA), by a final score of 21-8.

The Gladiators (11-1) will now prepare for their game against George Wythe (Wytheville, VA). The Maroons come into the non-league game with a 10-3 record. In their last game, George Wythe toppled Grundy (Grundy, VA), 35-12, in a non-league game.

The Trojans now hold a 13-1 record.
