In Tuesday's non-league contest, the host Marshall Redhawks basketball team scored a close 47-42 triumph over the Central Bearcats.
The Redhawks (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Harper Creek (Battle Creek, MI). The Beavers go into the Interstate 8 contest with a 1-0 record. In their last contest, Harper Creek nipped Olivet (Olivet, MI), 44-40, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Bearcats battle the Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants (Kalamazoo, MI) in a Southwestern Michigan - East contest, on Thursday, December 5. Central will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record.
