The Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes basketball team scored 79 points and limited the visiting Loganville Red Devils to 71 in the Purple Hurricanes non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Purple Hurricanes now have a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Walnut Grove for a non-league game on Friday, December 20.

With the loss, Loganville falls to 5-1 on the campaign. The Red devils host Apalachee (Winder, GA) to confront the Wildcats in a game on Friday, December 13. The Wildcats go into the game with a record of 2-1.
