North Carolina High School Basketball - Northampton County toppled by Gates County

December 3, 2025: Gatesville, NC 27938

Gates County Red Barons (Gatesville, NC) backers went home thrilled Wednesday as they saw their basketball team thwart the visiting Northampton County Jaguars (Gaston, NC), 57-40 in a non-league contest.

The Red Barons (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against Peninsula Catholic (Newport News, VA). The Knights go into the non-league contest with a 5-0 record. In their last contest, Peninsula Catholic topped Nansemond-Suffolk Academy (Suffolk, VA), 75-50, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Jaguars battle the Bertie Falcons (Windsor, NC) in a non-league contest, on Friday, December 5. Northampton County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Falcons enter the match with a 1-0 record after their 65-12 non-league win over Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech (Elizabeth City, NC).
