The Chartiers Valley Colts (Bridgeville, PA) basketball nipped the host Aliquippa Quips (Aliquippa, PA), 52-49 in Friday's non-league test.
The Colts (9-0) will now prepare for their test against West Allegheny (Imperial, PA). The Indians go into the WPIAL 5A 4 test with a 4-4 record. In their last test, West Allegheny was tipped by Montour (McKees Rocks, PA), 64-51, in a non-league test.
The Quips now own a 4-2 record. They play next when they travel to South Side for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 3. Aliquippa will encounter a Rams squad coming off a 55-51 non-league loss to Avella (Avella, PA). The Rams record now stands at 2-6.
