With the victory, Barbers Hill upgrades its record to 17-4 on the campaign. The Eagles host Goose Creek Memorial (Baytown, TX) to play the Patriots in a 5A Region III District 17 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 9-12. Goose Creek Memorial lost 71-58 in their recent non-league bout against Nimitz (Houston, TX)

Next up, the Cougars play the Kirbyville Wildcats (Kirbyville, TX) in a 3A Region III District 22 bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Buna will attempt to upgrade on its 9-10 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 5-13 record after their 100-51 non-league loss to Corrigan-Camden (Corrigan, TX).
