Texas High School Basketball - Ponder can't hold off Connally

The Connally Cadets basketball team scored 39 points and held the host Ponder Lions to 34 in the Cadets non-league triumph on Friday.

The Cadets now sport a 15-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ignite Eagles for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 3. Connally will battle a Eagles team coming off a 102-85 non-league win over Smoking for Jesus Ministry Christian School (Burnet, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 7-5.

The Lions (7-3) will now prepare for their contest against Valley View (Valley View, TX). The Eagles enter the 3A Region II District 10 contest with a 10-8 record. In their last contest, Valley View was nudged by Muenster (Muenster, TX), 39-32, in a non-league contest.
