In Friday's non-league outing, the Zapata Hawks (Zapata, TX) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Economedes Jaguars (Edinburg, TX), by a count of 63-31.
The Hawks (2-9) will now prepare for their outing against Jubilee Brownsville (Brownsville, TX). The Titans go into the 4A Region IV District 32 outing with a 5-3 record. In their last outing, Jubilee Brownsville smashed Hidalgo (Hidalgo, TX), 33-32, in a league outing.
The Jaguars now hold a 11-12 record. They play next when they host San Perlita for a non-league outing on Tuesday, January 3. Economedes will clash with a Trojans squad coming off a 83-47 non-league loss to Santa Gertrudis Academy (Kingsville, TX). The Trojans record now stands at 3-12.
