In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Mars Fightin' Planets basketball team scored a good 64-55 triumph over the Farrell Steelers.

In their next game, the Fightin' Planets meet the North Hills Indians (Pittsburgh, PA) in a WPIAL 5A 4 match, on Tuesday, January 3. Mars will attempt to move on its 6-1 season record. The Indians enter the match with a 5-2 record after their 55-48 non-league loss to Hampton (Allison Park, PA).

With the defeat, Farrell moves to 6-3 on the year. The Steelers host Lakeview (Stoneboro, PA) to meet the Sailors in a non-league match on Tuesday, January 3. The Sailors enter the match with a record of 3-6. Lakeview lost 60-35 in their recent non-league match against Allegheny-Clarion Valley (Foxburg, PA)
