Freeport Pretzels (Freeport, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Monroe Cheesemakers (Monroe, WI), 61-55 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Freeport upgrades its record to 7-7 on the season. The Pretzels host Boylan Catholic (Rockford, IL) to play the Titans in a Northern Illinois 10 bout on Wednesday, January 4. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 10-5. Boylan Catholic lost 73-42 in their recent non-league bout against Richwoods (Peoria, IL)

Next up, the Cheesemakers play the Mount Horeb Vikings (Mount Horeb, WI) in a Badger - West bout, on Thursday, January 5. Monroe will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 6-4 record after their 53-46 non-league win over Lewiston-Altura (Lewiston, MN).
