Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Gainesville Red Elephants (Gainesville, GA) and the visiting North Hall Trojans (Gainesville, GA), saw Gainesville's basketball squad knock off North Hall by a tally of 64-49.

With the victory, Gainesville improves its record to 6-5 on the campaign. The Red Elephants travel to Habersham Central (Mt. Airy, GA) to play the Raiders in a AAAAAA Region 8 challenge on Friday, January 6. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 10-2.

Next up, the Trojans play the Cherokee Bluff Bears (Flowery Branch, GA) in a AAAA Region 8A challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. North Hall will attempt to improve on its 8-5 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 10-4 record after their 70-58 non-league win over West Hall (Oakwood, GA).
