The Hayesville Yellowjackets basketball team scored 53 points and held the host Polk County Wildcats to 43 in the Yellowjackets non-league triumph on Friday.

The Yellowjackets now sport a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Robbinsville for a 1A Conference 43 contest on Tuesday, January 3. Hayesville will meet a Black Knights team coming off a 56-55 non-league win over Brevard (Brevard, NC). The Black Knights record now stands at 9-1.

The Wildcats (7-8) will now prepare for their contest against Tyner Academy (Chattanooga, TN). The Rams enter the 2A District 4 contest with a 7-2 record. In their last contest, Tyner Academy ran past Signal Mountain (Signal Mountain, TN), 74-60, in a non-league contest.
