West Valley Rams (Yakima, WA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Kelso Hilanders (Kelso, WA), 60-41 in a non-league game.

In their next game, the Rams face the Moses Lake Mavericks (Moses Lake, WA) in a 4A Columbia Basin Big-9 game, on Saturday, January 7. West Valley will attempt to move on its 7-3 season record.

With the defeat, Kelso moves to 5-4 on the year. The Hilanders travel to Heritage (Vancouver, WA) to face the Timberwolves in a 3A Greater St. Helens game on Tuesday, January 3. The Timberwolves enter the game with a record of 6-2. Heritage lost 65-57 in their recent non-league game against Kamiak (Mukilteo, WA)
