The Kent-Meridian Royals (Kent, WA) basketball nipped the host South Kitsap Wolves (Port Orchard, WA), 55-52 in Friday's non-league test.
The Royals (7-1) will now prepare for their test against Mt. Rainier (Des Moines, WA). The Rams go into the 3A/4A North Puget Sound test with a 2-5 record.
The Wolves now own a 1-7 record. They play next when they travel to Decatur for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 3. South Kitsap will encounter a Golden Gators squad coming off a 62-59 non-league loss to Cleveland (Seattle, WA). The Golden Gators record now stands at 3-5.
