The Kingdom Prep Academy Warriors (Lubbock, TX) basketball nipped the host Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX), 48-46 in Friday's non-league test.
The Warriors (8-2) will now prepare for their test against Happy (Happy, TX). The Cowboys go into the non-league test with a 6-5 record. In their last test, Happy was tipped by Abilene Christian (Abilene, TX), 45-39, in a non-league test.
The Badgers now own a 8-8 record. They play next when they travel to Ballinger for a 3A Region I District 6 test on Tuesday, January 3. Merkel will encounter a Bearcats squad coming off a 50-28 non-league loss to Rocksprings (Rocksprings, TX). The Bearcats record now stands at 4-7.
