The Leake Central Gators basketball team (Carthage, MS), dropped 70-57 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Morton Panthers (Morton, MS)
The Panthers now possess a 8-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Southeast Lauderdale for a 3A Region 5 battle on Tuesday, January 3. Morton will confront a Tigers team coming off a 51-44 non-league win over Newton (Newton, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 2-0.
The Gators (3-6) will now prepare for their battle against West Lauderdale (Collinsville, MS). The Knights come into the 4A Region 4 battle with a 6-3 record. In their last battle, West Lauderdale dropped by Neshoba Central (Philadelphia, MS), 73-63, in a non-league battle.
