Wylie Bulldogs (Abilene, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Little River Academy Bumblebees (Little River Academy, TX), 54-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wylie upgrades its record to 8-12 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Monterey (Lubbock, TX) to play the Plainsmen in a 5A Region I District 4 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Plainsmen go into the bout with a record of 13-8. Monterey won 54-40 in their recent non-league bout against Weatherford (Weatherford, TX)

Next up, the Bumblebees play the Rogers Eagles (Rogers, TX) in a 3A Region III District 19 bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Little River Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 12-7 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 5-9 record after their 42-41 non-league win over Marlin (Marlin, TX).
