Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Upper Lake Cougars (Upper Lake, CA) and the visiting Making Waves Academy Marlins (Richmond, CA), saw Upper Lake's basketball squad overcome Making Waves Academy by a tally of 52-39.

The Cougars (5-7) will now prepare for their test against Sonoma Academy (Santa Rosa, CA). The Coyotes go into the North Central II test with a 7-3 record. In their last test, Sonoma Academy was beaten by Marin Academy (San Rafael, CA), 45-32, in a non-league test.

The Marlins now own a 5-9 record. They play next when they host Contra Costa Christian for a Bay Counties - General test on Wednesday, January 4. Making Waves Academy will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 90-45 non-league win over Valley Christian (Dublin, CA). The Cougars record now stands at 7-6.
