In Friday's non-league outing, the Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), by a margin of 67-44.

The Maroon Devils (5-6) will now prepare for their outing against Cherokee (Cherokee, NC). The Braves go into the 1A Conference 43 outing with a 6-7 record. In their last outing, Cherokee was trounced by North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC), 77-73, in a non-league outing.

The Mountaineers now own a 4-7 record. They play next when they host North Buncombe for a non-league outing on Wednesday, January 4.
