Plainview Pirates (Plainview, NE) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Pender Pendragons (Pender, NE), 49-36 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Plainview upgrades its record to 2-7 on the season. The Pirates host Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] (Clearwater, NE) to clash with the Bobcats in a C2 District 7 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Bobcats go into the bout with a record of 7-0. Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] won 42-38 in their recent non-league bout against West Holt (Atkinson, NE)

Next up, the Pendragons clash with the Wynot Blue Devils (Wynot, NE) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 2. Pender will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a 5-0 record after their 52-40 non-league win over Irene/Wakonda (Irene, SD).
