California High School Basketball - Manteca edges El Capitan

December 30, 2022: Merced, CA 95348

The Manteca Buffaloes (Manteca, CA) basketball nipped the host El Capitan Gauchos (Merced, CA), 54-48 in Friday's non-league test.

The Buffaloes (9-3) will now prepare for their test against Rodriguez (Fairfield, CA). The Mustangs go into the non-league test with a 2-10 record. In their last test, Rodriguez was tipped by Canon City (Canon City, CO), 34-25, in a non-league test.

The Gauchos now own a 12-4 record. They play next when they travel to Merced for a Central California Conference test on Tuesday, January 3. El Capitan will encounter a Bears squad coming off a 48-36 non-league loss to Hilmar (Hilmar, CA). The Bears record now stands at 8-6.
