The Kidder County co-op [Steele/Tappen] Pirates basketball team scored 44 points and held the visiting St. John Woodchucks to 33 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Friday.

The Pirates now sport a 6-3 record.

The Woodchucks (5-2) will now prepare for their contest against Cavalier (Cavalier, ND). The Tornadoes enter the non-league contest with a 4-1 record. In their last contest, Cavalier ran past Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] (Leeds, ND), 57-30, in a non-league contest.
