Monte Vista Christian Mustangs (Watsonville, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host St. Francis Sharks (Watsonville, CA), 41-32 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Monte Vista Christian upgrades its record to 5-7 on the season. The Mustangs host Notre Dame (Salinas, CA) to play the Spirits in a PCAL - Mission bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Spirits go into the bout with a record of 1-4.

Next up, the Sharks play the Gilroy Mustangs (Gilroy, CA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 4. St. Francis will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record.
