Westwood Cardinals (Washington Township, NJ) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Paramus Catholic Paladins (Paramus, NJ), 55-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Westwood upgrades its record to 6-1 on the season. The Cardinals host Mahwah (Mahwah, NJ) to clash with the Thunderbirds in a Big North - Patriot bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Thunderbirds go into the bout with a record of 3-4. Mahwah lost 43-39 in their recent non-league bout against Northern Highlands (Allendale, NJ)

Next up, the Paladins clash with the Academy of the Holy Angels Angels (Demarest, NJ) in a Big North - United bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Paramus Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Angels go into the bout with a 4-3 record after their 38-33 non-league win over Pascack Valley (Hillsdale, NJ).
