Wethersfield Flying Geese (Kewanee, IL) fans went home happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Peoria Heights Patriots (Peoria Heights, IL), 48-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wethersfield upgrades its record to 8-8 on the season. The Flying Geese travel to Stark County (Toulon, IL) to clash with the Rebels in a Lincoln Trail bout on Monday, January 2. The Rebels go into the bout with a record of 5-10. Stark County won 43-38 in their recent non-league bout against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (Gibson City, IL)

Next up, the Patriots clash with the Midwest Central/Delavan Raiders (Manito, IL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 2. Peoria Heights will attempt to upgrade on its 7-8 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 6-10 record after their 55-36 non-league loss to Brown County (Mt. Sterling, IL).
