In Friday's non-league match, the host West Wilkes Blackhawks basketball team scored a good 41-30 triumph over the Alleghany Trojans.
In their next game, the Blackhawks meet the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, January 3. West Wilkes will attempt to better on its 5-6 season record. The Huskies enter the match with a 5-4 record after their 46-39 non-league win over Draughn (Valdese, NC).
