Ascension Christian (Gonzales, LA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Seven Rivers Christian Warriors (Lecanto, FL), 53-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Ascension Christian upgrades its record to 6-7 on the season. The travel to St. Martin's Episcopal (Metairie, LA) to play the Saints in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 3. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 9-3. St. Martin's Episcopal lost 79-56 in their recent non-league bout against De La Salle (New Orleans, LA)

Next up, the Warriors play the Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs (Ocala, FL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 8. Seven Rivers Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 61-57 non-league loss to Riverside Christian (Trenton, FL).
