The Beecher Bobcats (Beecher, IL) basketball nipped the visiting Mercer County Golden Eagles (Aledo, IL), 49-42 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Bobcats (16-0) will now prepare for their test against Tri-Point (Cullom, IL). The Chargers go into the River Valley test with a 1-14 record.
The Golden Eagles now own a 9-6 record. They play next when they travel to Stark County for a Lincoln Trail test on Wednesday, January 3. Mercer County will encounter a Rebels squad coming off a 46-44 non-league loss to Lena-Winslow (Lena, IL). The Rebels record now stands at 7-7.
