Gateway Gators (Monroeville, PA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders (Altoona, PA), 42-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Gateway upgrades its record to 7-1 on the season. The Gators host McKeesport (McKeesport, PA) to play the Tigers in a WPIAL 5A 3 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 3-5. McKeesport lost 54-41 in their recent non-league bout against Butler (Butler, PA)

Next up, the Marauders play the Bellefonte Raiders (Bellefonte, PA) in a Laurel Highlands bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Bishop Guilfoyle will attempt to upgrade on its 6-2 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 80-48 league win over Huntingdon (Huntingdon, PA).
