Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Marist RedHawks (Chicago, IL), 50-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Centralia upgrades its record to 16-0 on the season. The Orphans travel to Mascoutah (Mascoutah, IL) to clash with the Indians in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 6. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 8-5.

Next up, the RedHawks clash with the Carmel Corsairs (Mundelein, IL) in a East Suburban Catholic bout, on Friday, January 5. Marist will attempt to upgrade on its 13-3 season record. The Corsairs go into the bout with a 5-9 record after their 67-52 non-league loss to Glenwood (Chatham, IL).
