Custer Wildcats (Custer, SD) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Chadron Cardinals (Chadron, NE), 62-55 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Custer upgrades its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Sturgis Brown (Sturgis, SD) to play the Scoopers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Scoopers come into the bout with a record of 0-3. Sturgis Brown lost 65-56 in their recent league bout against Douglas (Box Elder, SD)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Hot Springs Bison (Hot Springs, SD) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Chadron will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Bison come into the bout with a 2-2 record after their 47-46 non-league loss to Spearfish (Spearfish, SD).
