Cienega Bobcats (Vail, AZ) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Walden Grove Red Wolves (Sahuarita, AZ), 76-72 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Cienega upgrades its record to 10-5 on the campaign. The Bobcats travel to Ironwood Ridge (Tucson, AZ) to play the Nighthawks in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 3. The Nighthawks come into the bout with a record of 4-9. Ironwood Ridge lost 61-56 in their recent non-league bout against Marcos de Niza (Tempe, AZ)

Next up, the Red Wolves play the Rio Rico Hawks (Rio Rico, AZ) in a 4A Gila bout, on Thursday, January 4. Walden Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 6-9 season record. The Hawks come into the bout with a 2-10 record after their 68-33 non-league loss to Browne (Phoenix, AZ).
