Elgin Maroons (Elgin, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Kennedy Crusaders (Chicago, IL), 55-41 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Elgin upgrades its record to 5-10 on the campaign. The Maroons travel to Glenbard East (Lombard, IL) to play the Rams in a Upstate Eight bout on Thursday, January 4. The Rams come into the bout with a record of 4-11. Glenbard East lost 58-46 in their recent non-league bout against Highland Park (Highland Park, IL)

Next up, the Crusaders play the King Jaguars (Chicago, IL) in a Chicago Public - White Central bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Kennedy will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record.
