Goodpasture Christian Cougars (Madison, TN) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Westmoreland Eagles (Westmoreland, TN), 76-64 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Goodpasture Christian upgrades its record to 12-2 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Mount Juliet Christian Academy (Mt. Juliet, TN) to play the Saints in a Division II-A Middle District 4 bout on Thursday, January 4. The Saints come into the bout with a record of 7-4. Mount Juliet Christian Academy won 47-26 in their recent non-league bout against Foundation Christian Academy (Bowling Green, KY)

Next up, the Eagles play the Trousdale County Yellowjackets (Hartsville, TN) in a 2A District 6 bout, on Friday, January 5. Westmoreland will attempt to upgrade on its 11-4 season record.
